Much like any petrol head I've ALWAYS wanted one of these.

I've recently been made redundant and with my pay off I thought I would get one (against my better judgement as I'm still unemployed a month on).

Started the search and after a few hours I'd agreed to head over to see this. Eventually left a deposit and a month and half later today came and I went over to Ambleside to collect it. I went home via Hartside to get acquainted with it and I'm pleased I did. It's a 3 owner (same fella last 13 years) and has 72K on the clock but you wouldn't think so - it's a real credit to its previous owner.

fk me though, it's fantastic. I even got three separate 'thumbs ups' from drivers on the way home - it certainly was appreciated by others more than the Evora is.

Here are some pics... I'll get some better ones next week when I've had a chance to give it a proper wash and polish:

At Ambleside when I picked it up:

Hartside Cafe on the way home (it was awful seeing the once thriving cafe like this frown ):

It's thirsty when you put your foot down:

I urge you to do whatever you need to do to get into one of these cloud9

Plans when I'm back in gainful employment are:

  • wheel refurbishment
  • 2 x rear tyres
  • door scratch repair
  • fit standard CD player

Absolutely stunning and shouldn’t lose much money if any at all.

MK1 or MK2? Think MK1 are a little bit tricky on the limit?

These headlights mean it is a phase 2.

I live about 10 miles from Hartside cafe, I agree it’s really sad.

Currently in the market for 250k apparently. Makes money during the summer, inaccessible in the winter.

Epic car. My first ever car was a mk2 Clio so I’ve lusted after a v6 one. I’d have one in liquid yellow if I won the lottery.
I actually just bought a Megane and drove it over the Hartside Pass too.

Gratuitous photo.

Amazing little things, I loved mine!
Every time I see anything about a PH2 Vee in Illiad I get a pant of regret in my stomach for selling it.

A Pipercross panel filter gives a great induction noise, especially with the passenger window down.

That is very, very cool. Makes you miss the days when the French did mental stuff like this.

For those wanting to know, I cleaned it with the one bucket method with cheapo Carplan shampoo... dried it with a blade thingy and microfibre towel... polished it with Autoglym Super Resin Polish... then Autoglym HD wax... wheels were washed with Wonder Wheels, then used some cheap spray wax on the spokes and Meguiars tyre stuff on the tyres. Seats were cleaned with Poorboys carpet cleaner, as was the steering wheel. Everything else treated to a light interior shine spray. I'll apply some Gtechniq trim restorer when I can be arsed (tomorrow probably as I've a lot of time on my hands of late!)
