back from garage/workshop with dead cerbie , mot due tomoro and absolutely nothing starting. appears to be no fuel , lots of throttle pumping but no smell of fuel anywhere, can anybody tell me if you can usually hear the fule pump whining away with the ignition on ?

mine kicks in when the mil light comes on at ignition(ie when the immobiliser deactivates)

As k9doc says, when the MIL light comes on when starting, you can hear the fuel pump activate for about 2 secs. Is the engine turning over, but not firing? Have you been messing about with the fuses in the boot? It happened to me when I was fitting an amp. I had loosened a fuse accidently.

thanks guys, now been underneath and found no volts to it with ign on so suspect immobiliser. Have found immob inbetween back seats , unplugged - re-plugged a few times and now have squeeling pump again !!!
