I’m looking for some top tips on what tool and or method to use to tighten/undo the distributor clamp nut with the engine in the car and everything else attached. Pre-serp 4.0 engine. I bought this tool but I still can’t get access.

I've only ever used/needed a combination spanner.

i had a similar question recently...but did not post it.....and i was shortly b4 buying such a tool...until i tried with my spanners:

finally i usde a combination of a very short 14mm ring-spanner and a standard 9/16 ring- spanner.

my luck was that on one to the other spanner the 12-edges of the ring is located in a different offset to the handle...so i could use one spanner to turn the nut 1/4 turn, than the other spanner fitted again, so i could turn another few degrees...than the other spanner fitted again...and so on...

The distributor and coolant tank make access very tight. I’ll have to think about this some more.
Actually a Griffith, early ‘92.
