I've just bought a Mazda 3 2.0 petrol. Upon starting up the engine is hunting for the first two minutes, then returns to normal. I've sprayed around the manifold and air pipes with WD40 and no leaks presented themselves. Do you think it's worth worrying about?

Could be a sticky EGR, idle control valve, MAF. I'd try given them all a clean. If you're really worried, take it to a trusted garage and ask them for a diagnosis. If it's only for 2 minutes then I would imagine it's resolved when it has heated up a bit. I'm no mechanic but have had this on some vehicles.

Cheers! I'm going to clean the MAF, EGR, and throttle body first to see if that makes any difference. If not I can get in touch with the garage I bought it from, they're a main dealer so it should be alright.
