911 997 Bumper Protection (Front and back)

Hi all, I picked up a very smart 997 yesterday which is parked on a residential street (No garage). After watching a neighbour spend 7 minutes parking in front of me and get uncomfortably close i feel i need to look into bumper protection (you should see the bumper marks on their golf!!!.....)
It is a weekend car and is covered by a Car Additions Ultimate cover, but anyone recommend those flip out material bumper protectors? Ideally front and back. They would only go on when parked up at home.

If it were me I’d be considering renting a garage or parking space for peace of mind, especially if the car will only used on the weekends. On the south coast these can be found for -£40 a month.
I’ve seen some pretty terrible on-road parking attempts and although a bumper protectors may help from light nudges, it won’t be much good against someone who is a. Hopeless at parking or b. Doesn’t care.

Protection aside, you'll also need to think about the consequences of leaving the car for long periods of non-use. This can have an adverse affect on a number of things, most notably the brakes, and battery. Brakes will go rusty very quickly and while they'll clean off after a few applications, the inside face of the disc will corrode to the point where it will stay rusty, leading to ineffective braking and / or an MOT fail.
While the alarm system will go into a 'hibernate' mode after 6 (I think) days, it's still active to a point, as is the tracker you no doubt have. Without a maintenance charger, the battery will not last very long unless you're running the car for a prolonged drive, and even then this is not certain, as you've got a lot of drain just to make the car move, before you've even turned on the radio, air-con etc. Bear in mind that getting more than five years on a battery is good going anyway.
