Next up on the list of jobs is to sort the exhaust as my cans are looking a little tired.

My car is decatted with ACT decat pipes, and has a remap chip from kits and classics. The cans are also sleeved but I don't know what cans they are, they look like they have an insert in them that sleeves them but that might just be the way they look.

Whatever it is, it is LOUD! Not too bad on idle, fairly nice and deep but as soon as I open it up it's crazy. It has that typical S6 sound but the pops and bangs are so over the top its like a 21 gun salute every time I lift off. I love the pops and bangs and I don't want to get rid of them, or make them quieter necessarily, I just want to make them sound less like high pitched gunfire. I occasionally get a nice low burble of pops but mostly it's that high pitched metallic loud explosion sound.

I'm thinking of going for the ACT big bore system but trying to keep costs down at the moment, I know I'd need new cans either way so thinking of going for them first and seeing how it sounds.

I'm leaning towards powertech cans, possibly standard or partial sleeve. This will also have the benefit of increasing the diameter of the cans compared to what I have now.

What do you think, powertech sleeved, powertech standard, 50% mix or something else?

Thanks
