Audi A4 Avant 1.4 TFSI 2016/17
Discussion
Evening
I usually inhabit the Ford forum pages but my missus needs a new car and has her eyes on one of the downsized (and now discontinued I think) 1.4 petrol engined Audi A4 Avants from either 2016 or 2017.
Any advice on owner’s experiences or what to look out for would be massively appreciated.
Cheers

I've been driving one for about 9 months now. March 2016 and it's now done 51k. Bought it from an Audi dealer's used car branch with 36k on the clock.
The engine copes really well for such a large car. Enough power with the turbo to overtake safely. Fuel consumption is excellent - on mine the long-term usage is 44mpg since 2016. On a run and cruising at 50mph it'll do 50mpg but consumption increases dramatically if it's just town work, about 30mpg. It doesn't pull away particularly quickly from rest, and this doesn't help the mpg.
She may come to loath the Audi "Pre-Sense" braking assistance. It can be very sensitive but it can be adjusted. I had mine recently altered and I can just about put up with it now. Like so much safety stuff it assumes that the driver is a moron - part of modern life I suppose.
It's my first car with an infotainment system operated by a large central dial. PITA to an old fogey like me. The Satnav takes so long to operate it's quicker to look at the A-Z. Way too many buttons and functions and options. If you're not an OAP you may like all that.
Big car, loads of space, everything seems solid and quality.Longlife servicing too, so only oil changes every 8/10k according to usage and an inspection (i.e. service) about every 20k. My insurance was only £30pa more than my little Seat Ibiza.
