Vantage V12 questions
Discussion
So I picked up my manual V12 Vantage yesterday and suitably in love but a few questions for the initiated among you:-
1) lots of very visible UV spots on the rear glass (told this is normal, is it? Seems a bit budget to me
2) squeaky carbon breaks. Seem to remember this from my Porsche and only at low speeds but bit annoying
3) both 12v cigarette lighter sockets don’t work. Aston advised me it was fuse 55 but the book doesn’t show a fuse 55 and I can’t see any numbering by the fuses themselves in the cabin fuse box on the passenger footwell - can anyone advise?

Hi there, congrats on the purchase.
1) these spots I’ve seen on virtually every manufacturer car. It’s just glass not Aston Martin glass. Thought the industry would’ve fixed this by now. My previous Porsche’s had this too.
2) brake squeal poss due to lack of use. Try a couple of firm brakings coming off motorway slip roads for eg. Make sure there is nobody behind you!

Congrats on the new car - lucky boy!
you will get lots of grins from it
re the brakes - I presume you know not to use any solvents etc on the rotors as it can compromise them. Also dont soak them when washing wheels
and if you can work out how to clean the inside of the wheel on the fronts where there is about 1mm clearance from the rotor to the wheel let me know - there must be a tool/brush or something but I'm struggling to keep them clean

Push / drive / let the car roll a couple of feet forward. Annoying, but less work than taking the wheels off. Graeme
