Golf r extended warranty £222
Discussion
That is about one of the cheapest warranties I have ever heard of in my life. Impressive still is that it is VW as well, have paid at least triple that for 3rd party for a 9 year old (at the time) X5.
BMW wanted around 6x how much you were quoted for a driveline only warranty on our X5.
Saying this, it is a Golf R, and there aren't too many issues in the first place with the car, only thing I can think of is turbo issues, DSG problems, diff and maybe even oil consumption, but AFAIK none of those issues have been reported for them whatsoever.

For that money i'd go all component.
And consider taking the zero excess if an option. One claim will cost you £100, and I would imagine the zero excess option will be another £25-£30 thus worth having.
The warranty on my S5 was offered at £603 for zero excess and all component cover last month, which I though was great value, but the price you have is awesome.
It was irrelevant though as I chose to drop the money on a Revo remap, thus any warranty would have been void anyway.
