Flying list looks very sparse for this year, and nothing in addition to the usual suspects:

With less than 2 months to go there's usually a lot more aircraft scheduled to fly. Does anyone know it there is anything out of the ordinary displaying this year?

No idea.

I've never been before so will enjoy it no matter what.

I was wondering if there would be residual D-Day stuff hanging around.

Flying list for the Air Festival this weekend looks even worse. Last years looked great:

The wonderful DH.9 restoration took to the air at Duxford for first time this week, so its possible that might make a debut at Leg Ends, as is likely the ARCO Lizzie that flew for the first time last September.

4 x Buchon's in the air will possibly be a first as well.

Sadly, with the change in regs post Shoreham, I think its just going to get harder and harder to put displays on, even for TFC etc. And then there's the elephant in the room of TFC in future years, SG is not getting any younger, so what form will it continue in after SG is gone, if at all.

Make the most of it while you can.

I'll be going anyway, always enjoy it.

BTW, re. the four Buchons being a first, I took this last year:

Seem to remember seeing rather than 4 one day in the late 60s, but I got a bit distracted by a film crew blowing a hangar up.

Watched the movie again the other day. That scene always makes me wince.

Me too. But if the film hadn't promoted interest on the B of B and what relics were left, Duxford might have been a housing estate by now.

Fair enough, was a guess, as sadly I've not been able to get to Leg Ends since 2014 (having been to all of them up to that year) and was hoping to try and get there this year, but again, circumstances won't allow frown

Never seen the Buchons, but was there when the air vice-marshall stuck the Bf109 in the cabbage field the other side of the M11 (sadly no photosl

I've not been for a at least 6 years so I'm booked up for this one.

Love the old stuff.

Absolutely. The loss of the hangar was a worthy sacrifice.
