What car to purchase [3.5-4k budget]

Hey Pistonheads,
I was pointed in this direction by those of r/cartalkuk on reddit, to ask for advice on what motor i should purchase. I love the idea of a mk2 MR2, however finding one thats clean in my budget is proving taxing and may not be worth the while. Although i would love that car, I am certainly open to the idea of other motors. The preferential style of car would be a two seater, maybe with a floppy top. I am fairly against the idea of an MX-5, I don't like the commodity of them (not to offend anyone) and don't think i'd like it.

Obviously the lower the insurance costs the better. Thanks! x

Audi TT, 1.8T or even the 3.2 V6.

BMW Z4.

Porsche Boxster (though may be a risk at this price - haven't looked at prices in a while).

is this your only car? are you any good with spanners? do you have a garage to store it?
id suggest a 350z or Z4,

I'm not to handy spanner wise but i am totally willing to spend time to learn with the motor.

Also, no garage to store and would likely be nearly a daily driver.

I went for a mk1 TT when I was looking, been using it as a daily driver nearly a year and 5k miles.

had a few teething problems but nothing that took the car off the road.

Petrol and tax are above average so just take that into consideration. I picked mine up for 2k and have put another 1k into it to make it a hell of a lot nicer.

That's an idea - they do seem to be very reasonably priced these days!

But I'd go for a Z4 (3 litre ideally) - although I'm biased.
