Removing water marks from paint and glass
Discussion
A few months ago I set up a movement activated water sprayer to discourage our cat from sitting on my car (under a cover).
Not driven it since - cover removed to give it its summer clean today and have discovered it is covered in water droplet marks. A normal wash didn't shift them - aggressive clay bar and autoglym polish has got rid of some (and polished in some scratches
) but there are still a lot of marks, and a couple of really bad ones that I can feel with my fingernail where water has trickled from drain holes.
Any ideas as to how I can shift? I don't really want to go with the pain renovator, and although I have a DA polished I am nervous about using it.
Do I need to get it mopped properly by a pro?
The spray was also getting the kitchen window/door glass, and washing and AG fastglass has not touched it - it feels matt in finish. Any ideas on this?
I live in the SE so a hard water area.

Try a quick spray of Viakil on the marks and agitate with a soft brush. Rinse then polish/wax.
Surely you mean a wire brush

Do people really get this bored, or this starved of attention?

Thanks, I've ordered some of the stuff he is testing so hopefully that will make a difference
I have no idea, but another option is used diluted acid wheel cleaner.

I'd test on a small area first though.

Oops too late! I tried some viakal spray on the windows and it shifted it pretty easily so used on the two worst runs on the car and appears to have shifted (albeit with some tiny scratches where I was rubbing hard, but it is 30 year old paint). Rinsed it off with plenty of water of course.
Will remember the vinegar for next time; thanks
