I saw this on a V8 yesterday at Brands Hatch. It is actually a carb with coil packs! The carb is something called QFT or quick fuel technology. Any idea how the ignition would be controlled?

The mechanic with the car was over from somewhere in Europe so we struggled with the questions!

The carb looks like a regular Holley but I daresay QFT have modified it. 2 metering blocks and probably 4 corner idle. As for ignition, perhaps EDIS?

More power with carbs but not so good on road cars, many inlet manifolds for carbs have dividers etc to stop fuel pooling at lower revs. Fine when your flat chat id imagine. The tyres on the above car suggest any low speed manners are totally unnecessary hehe

It seemed small to me but It’s been a while since I saw a carburettor and thanks for the tip on EDIS!

Must be a hoot with those tyres on.
My elder brother got an early Spitfire when I was a teenager, I fell in love with it and think that’s where my love of soft tops really began. Down hill ever since biggrin

Is it a carb? Could it be an EFI unit?

It has float bowls, adjustable float heights, accelerator pumps and 4 corner idle, it's a carb ;-) Been tweaked though. Has a MAP sensor to.

Mechanical secondaries and secondary metering plates by the looks biggrin that crap gauze over the carb is bloody awful its way to close to the mixing nozzles for kick off rolleyes that could create metering issues in fact probably does frown
