Engine issue diagnosed... interesting discovery

Afternoon Gents,

September last year my engine developed a knocking sound from what sounded like the top end but it was so loud it was difficult to work out where the sound was coming from.

I didn't have the time or funds to look into straight away so I SORNed the car for winter and I picked it back up this year. The car was transported to Jody at Python Racing for inspection. I asked him to remove the engine as I intend to refresh it anyway.

It turns out that one of the head bolts had unwound itself and was hitting the inside of the rocker cover on each compression stroke. Jody estimated that the bolt had slowly unwound itself over a long period of time so I have been driving around a V7 for quite some time

Hey Alun, I hope you are well sir. I was half expecting to see you at the Cadwell trackday, shame you could not make it.
