15K Budget - Which Sporty Wagon
Discussion
Hope this is within the rules
Im looking for a new car and need an estate or bigger car for work. Ive had a Volvo v40 for 3 years and I'm fed up with having a slow car, Life is too short!
My thinking so far is either..
SENSIBLE OPTION - V50 / V70 D5 - £8K
EXITING OPTION - Octavia VRS 245 TSI - £18-24k
If you had to buy a fast wagon for about 15K what would you get?
Or would you just lease something...
Any ideas much appreciated, is the VRS TSI a solid motor?
Thanks!

VRS can be remapped to 320bhp from a stage 1 Revo (£500) so that’s where my money would be going
That would give it a 0-60 time of sub 5.5 seconds.
Otherwise a Birds 335i
Volvo V60 Polestar
Audi S4
Volkswagen Golf R Estate (although I’m not sure these could be had for £15k)
That would give it a 0-60 time of sub 5.5 seconds.

Which motor are are you referring too? 320hp would be ideal 😂That would give it a 0-60 time of sub 5.5 seconds.

If you want a sporty mainstream wagon you'd be going for the Mondeo first as it's a better steer than the equivalent Octavia:
Mondeo Titanium with the X Pack

Octavia VRS these are easier to find than the Mondeo but not imo a better car

The actual mainstream option I'd look for would be the Insignia VXR estate they're hard to find:

Other options:
V60 T6

Non sensible options:
E63 AMG the only real issues with these is the fuel consumption

Audi S6

I recall reading a PH article on these and as soon as I saw a picture I started looking for one. Then I got to the next paragraph. Servicing every 6 months or 4500 miles lol.
I'll stick to my 1.7d

Thanks for the input chaps
No love for the octavia then?! I test drove one and thought it was perfect for what I wanted. (reasonably quick and massive boot). Haven't driven a mondeo though.
The VRS linked above is the one im looking at
I would an S4 too, but seem more expensive for equal condition?
I'll keep thinking....
