I get up in the morning, make the tea, and sit down at the computer. Then suddenly I rrealise that a song is playing in my head. This morning it is WOLD by Harry Chapin, a song I haven't heard in years. Recently it has been "The Turning Away" by Pink Floyd, but since I saw the Aussie group a month back perhaps I can understand that. But Karma Chamelion by Boy George? Or "How do you like your eggs in the morning" by Dean Martin? Just where do I drag them from in the depths of my brain? I just never know what is going to be playing in my head from one day to another, and sometimes it lasts all day and others it changes to another song. Am I alone in this, or do you have the same problem?

Randomly my current in-my-head "playlist" appears to be Goldie Lookin' Chain. Safe spaa...

I had a melody stuck in my head the other day, but I couldn’t place it or where I’d picked it up.
After 24 hours I’d got to the point of getting ready to upload a YouTube video of me singing “la le-la de-de da, la la de-de da, de dum” to put on here but finally cracked it.

The irony of the proceeding lines to the bit I remembered was not lost on me:
"Son, can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes"

I have the same thing, I wouldn’t call it a problem though, except for when some vacuous Radio 1 filler song gets lodged in there (kid’s radio station of choice on school run)
