Raspberry Pi. Bought the kit from Amazon and a preloaded SD card from EBay. Very impressed.

Is it powerful enough?

Depends what you want to play, but anything up to late 90s usually ok. I think N64 isn’t great but I’m sure someone who knows a lot more than me will advise. Just get something like this for everything you need (or source the bits yourself at lower cost - you may already have a power supply, HDMI and Bluetooth controllers etc):

You can download the RetroPie software yourself and ‘source’ some game roms but as I said I just bought a preconfigured SD card from EBay and it was just plug and play.

NVIDIA Shield TV. It’ll run all emulators up to PS2 flawlessly.

It’s not cheap, but it’s the best.
