BMW E46 N42 Possible VANOS Failure?

I one day replaced my VANOS Solenoid Seals, installed them all good and the solenoids and tightened the bolts right and made sure they are at the right angle, I then connected the plugs correctly and I went for a test drive to see if it will steal leak, yes leak stopped but then I started hearing a loud diesel idle knocking noise that also kind of sounds like a bad manifold gasket. It is not very clear on the videos but on the interior vid, turn the volume up and listen very closely. I was told this is bad vanos but she starts and drives everyday perfectly and idles amazing too. The only other symptom might be stalling, stalled twice in the span of 2 months simply just on idle. Really unsure about this and only had a decent mechanic check it out but he said it was fine, no proper good mechanics about here, any help is appreciated.
