A few days away on a tight budget - help!
Discussion
Throwing myself on the mercy of the PH collective, hopefully someone, somewhere will have a fantastic idea and be able to help.
The dillemma:
Its the first anniversary (or the "official" anniversary, its a long story...) of me and my girlfriend.
I've promised to take her away for a couple of days. We are currently staying with my parents, so we need to get out of there for a little while!
The downside is that some money I was expecting to appear at the end of this week wont. (I did some consutancy work for a callcentre setup, weekends and evenings for the last 6 weeks - they have now cleared out their offices and nobody has a clue as to whats happening. A little birdie tells me that they are about to cease trading)
Which means her present isnt going to be as shiney as she'd hoped, the extra long weekend away in a nice hotel has been cancelled and I'm up shit creek without a paddle...
Can anyone recommend a cheap, yet nice, B&B for a couple of nights? Anniversary is Wednesday and we've got wed/thurs/fri booked off work.
I know, I know, taking ones other half on an anniversary to a B&B is rather cheap - but cant think of anything else on a budget of "as little as possible".

You don’t say whereabouts in the country you are but the Queensbury Hotel in Regency Square, Brighton is about 30 quid a night for a single. I doubt a double would cost much more. I always use it when I’m down there. It’s no palace but is clean, cheap and right in the town centre. 01273 325558.
There are also plenty of good reasonably priced restaurants in Preston Street round the corner if you want to take the other half out for dinner.

My Aunt & Uncle run this place if Devon is not too far to go.

Looks like rather a nice place, fantastic countryside around there.
My grandparents live in Seaton, the other side of Exeter. Great beaches etc and plenty of summers spent looking for fossils out there.
The only problem is that its a good 5 hours drive and the remoteness means there isnt that much for us to do...
A very good friend of mine runs The Henry Hotel in Bath:

Nice place, cheap, and a great city for a short break. (and, if you're thinking of this weekend, good racing at Castle Combe on Monday

) Again, I like Lyme Regis, thats where I used to go fossil hunting with my grandparents as a kid. That an Axemouth.
But its still Devon and 5 hours slog... Bit of a trek.
Anyone have any ideas of a decent B&B in say, Blackpool? Bournemouth?
Erm where else...
Total budget about two hundred quid. Which has to cover accomodation, drinks, food, petrol, entertainment etc...
