So I have an Xbox (whatever the latest one is called) - so do all my kids.

I want to play downstairs, while they play upstairs.....so we are in the same map....and I can shoot them. To assert my parental authority wink

We bought Battlefield 5 thinking we could do this - we can't, we can only play in a map with loads of others on line.

So - what game do we buy to do this?

Man, life was easier when it was just Counter Strike!

Have you considered an older call of duty? Modern warfare 2 (1 v 1 rust expression comes to mind) or COD4. Be able to do some split screen as well to be able to look across at the expressions of other players when you do headshot them.

Most are backwards compatible on Xbox one too.

Edit: seen you want to play in different rooms, I think you can do private or custom game lobbies as well

Don't the xboxs need to be physically connected to each other for that or am I showing my age and just being on the same network fine now.

Remember playing a load of 4 way halo on a 14" portable at Uni, that took good eyesight!

Bf1 or BF4... All you need to do is rent a private server from EA

As long as all players have an Xbox live gold account (or in some games bring guests along), you should be able to set up a private lobby on the selected game. I think in this case, multiple xboxes are involved.

I think what you were referring to is a 'LAN Party'

Edit: you don't have to physically connect the Xboxes to do private lobbies as long as they have a form of internet connection

If you don't want to spend money hiring a server each time in battlefield, you could risk using a 0 player server and hope people don't join...

Probably the best reason to have kids.

Rainbow 6 Siege - and it has some pretty small maps.

Excellent game too - very strategic, so your older and more experienced mind might help over his quicker reflexes wink
