Up at 5am for a 180 mile jaunt up to see Joolz yesterday..

I think we got that misfire sorted!

Joolz is a top chap, thorough, definitely knows his stuff (as if people didn't know that already), even offered a coffee upon arrival! Car is transformed, not just full throttle, but everything around it too..

For those of weak disposition, never watch your car on a dyno.. laugh

Amazing torque!

Well done

Can you remind us what is no longer standard, because it's obviously working

Yeah, I am quite pleased.. 96bhp/L and 84lbft/L (iirc) from an old 2V lump. A few tweaks to be made.

The torque is wonderful for overtaking/in gear toe flex.

Beyond the very good figures the shape of the torque curve is a little puzzling. How could it show two relatively flat plateaux with a sharp jump in between? Are the cams a little retarded comparedwwith factory timing and the ignition profile suddenly going up past 4500rpm?

The torque output of an engine is very closely related to how well the cylinders are being filled, so what you're seeing is the effects of the revised cam profiles, and the intake and exhaust lengths hindering, or benefiting, the cylinder filling at different rpms.
I assure you the engine has the correct fuel and ignition to make the best power at every point in the rev range.

It might look odd, but that's what it gives!

Ah I thought this engine was running on the original cam profiles. Thanks for the clarification. Excellent results really, must feel somewhat turbocharged!

345 lbft from 3k rpm is very impressive, the mid range must be fun, with the added kick coming in at 4.5k. It holds onto the extra torque well too, superb!

Cerbs are only meant to be driven at 4K rpm + therefore the curves are perfect thumbup
