Hi all

Forgive the noobness of this question, as its probably been answered before in a similar fashion ad nauseum.

Im looking to go to Hungaroring next year with the OH for the F1, staying in Budapest. It will be our first time at F1, although not my first time at a motorsport event.

Would anyone please advise -

Best place to buy tickets (are they even on sale yet?!)
Best value for money grandstand / area if they had been to that circuit before..
Any other useful tips..?

I'd just like to box everything off early such as flights etc simply for cost effective reasons and work related annual leave (its cynically called annual leave because busy periods for me like the summer need a long notice!)

Thanks all

Hungary is a great choice, we went there in 2015 (and saw a fantastic race).
We booked an apartment near the Chain Bridge and "commuted" to the circuit each day.
You can get to the circuit via Metro & train, taxi (not too expensive if you use the official F1 taxis), you could also hire a car, it's not a long drive.

We always use BookF1.com and have never had any problems with them at all.
We sat in the Bronze 1 grandstand, great view overlooking the chicane, lots of on track action there. Can't see this year's prices (presumably sold out) but the Bronze grandstands are ridiculously cheap by F1 standards, we paid around £70 for a 3 day ticket.

Hungary is probably the cheapest Grand Prix in Europe once you're there.

My top tip would be book you flights first as soon as the 2020 calendar is fixed, they sell quickly and the price goes up a lot.

I went 2 years ago, was an amazing experience even if you take the F1 out of it. We stayed in an Air BNB and got tickets from the official F1 site. There's a free bus to the circuit from a northern part of the city.

We have been twice, and going again this year, have used book f1, no problems.
Always book tickets for Budapest apartment and flights as soon as possible when calender is released as cost for both goes up fairly quickly, especially after Christmas.
Use the cheap underground to get to the freebus pick up point.
We go for 5 to 6 night's, make it a short break, its a nice city with loads to see.

Couple of other things I remembered.

1. Sun cream is expensive in Budapest, make sure you take it with you, you will probably need loads.

2. If you're in GA or an uncovered grandstand make damn sure you've got hats, it was roasting hot the year we went.

3. Pit walk day is good at the Hungaroring, lots of bars/food places etc. open.

4 The food at the track was remarkably good and cheap.
