Wipers again.

Found out why my wipers kept blowing the fuse. The main connector block to the motor had a broken internal connector, this caused a short, fuse kapput. It has 5 wires in and 3 wires out and clips onto wiper motor body. May seem like a daft question but does anyone know what car it is originally from.

can you replace it with a similar connector from a auto electrical shop of some description?

I am not sure if it is my park switch, the bible does mention this connector though. It comes apart easy enough, it has something similar to contact breakers inside it hence the uncertainty. Any electrical wizards out there, maybe someone can shed some light on its function.

Certainly sounds like the park switch if it has contact breakers inside.

Not sure what car it was off originally opionion seems to be that it is from a mini

If you are talking about the park switch then I don't think it's the same as a mini as they have no delayed wipe.

You do mean the white switch which attatches with the shepheards crook clip?

Yeah, that is the park switch. I have posted extensively on this issue, including diagnosing and a temporary fix for it. The wiper motor is a Lucas type off a Classic Mini, but the gearing and drive is TVR. So to fix a new motor you need to take the TVR and the Mini ones apart and reassemble.

But the Mini does not have a delayed wipe action.

If the car is constantly blowing fuses whenever you use the wipers and doesn't return to park then it is the park switch that is at fault. Basically what you want to do for a temp fix is to cut off the little plastic button/nub that goes into the park switch and the wiper motor. The wipers won't park, but it won't blow fuses. Then replace the park switch. I got mine from David Batty.
