Gen II at £95 is my preference, looks to be a nice car.

Buckets and no cage makes the rear more usable too.

people who have both seem to say the 997.1 feels move alive

how true that is I have no idea.

ive never driven the gen 2 so hard to compare but either one of them is over priced or the other one is very keen or perhaps a bit of both... i guess someone may come along to remind us that there was a white gen 2 cs that was sold by an opc for about 95 a few months back!

I’ve had two gen 1s and now I have a gen 2.
The last gen 1 I had was 5 years ago so it’s difficult to compare but I seem to have taken to the gen 2 very quickly. No doubt they are both lovely drivers cars though.
Whatever you choose there will be no disappointment.
Cheers

As RC1 pointed out....and prompted a response ;-).....a Gen 2 CS, 33k miles was sold by an OPC for £95k back end of last year.

To me, that is the Benchmark price for a Gen 2 GT3 CS.

I adjust prices accordingly from that for, mileage/non-OPC profit/non buckets etc.

As this gen 2 is similar mileage/spec and non-OPC, pricing should be circa 88k......and even then In the current market if you are putting all your eggs into one basket, you still risk losing a lot of money.

You need to ask, Why are GT3 still more expensive now in 2019 than back in 2012? Supply and demand? There are far more manual GT3’s available now than there were back then.

£95k is good to go on these imo with buckets, a couple have sold for that no issue, it’s the £120/135k cars which will never sell. OPC prices make no odds to me valuing cars vs private as most have warranty, so a good cars a good car, no reason for private to be cheaper.
Mainstream stuff yes a little value in OPC, Gt stuff NO extra value in it for me, in fact a private car will prob have better tyres and brakes, OPC use oem st.

To me and I imagine most others on here, there are 3 prices to every car.
OPC, you pay for piece of mind and no issue with putting a warranty on if you desire....so you pay the premium.
Trade-in, dealer needs to make a profit, less hassle for seller....but you don’t get as much for you car.
Private sale, priced somewhere between the two. Seller gets more for his car, buyer pays less....but more of a risk due to no comeback.

To me, I would always expect to Payless for a private sale due to this added risk. YMMV.....each to their own.

Agree the only warranty worth having is a Porsche one.

Nice colour but the drivers seat looks in a right state for 90k imo. Them ceramic brakes would need checking throughly to, if they are coming to the end of their life that could turn out to be a very expensive car to own. Be a hard sell in the end if you put the miles on it.

There does seem to be a steady flow coming to market with very few actually selling.

Yet they all seem to have price expectations in the stratosphere and get upset when motivated and ready buyers don't bite their hands off

Show us this steady flow of 997.2s coming to the market with buckets for under 100k that haven’t sold?

I would rather have a mint private car at £95k then a OPC stter at £97k

I really do tend to find the best cars end up selling in the private market.

you're assuming that only those sold through the network have a porsche warranty

ive only see one in the network and it was being offered by glasgow - i saw the internal invoices to corroborate the spend of 5k plus into the car and it was superb

ive only ever bought privately but the glasgow car was prepped so well that i wouldnt rule out a car from an opc

If you are genuine buyer and in no rush the market is on your side, as you will be aware many cars go on and off sale constantly. Most have been for sale for over a year and many get returned to the owners after they struggle to sell.

I feel a nice 997.1 gt3 cs private sale will settle around 65k in the not to distant future, only the very best with low owners will sell for 70k to 75k IMO.

My guess is we will see many of the same cars for sale after the summer. You only have to look
at 991.1 rs and 991.2 gt3 prices to see the market has already changed, the 997 gt3 was one of the last to climb up in price so it may take a while for owners to realise the change in the market pricing.

both seem the same price to me this year, my mates looking for a 991.1 RS and they look very stable as do 991.2,s

this all might change of course depending on the new models, but it's like a gamble they could go up or down esp if no manual 992 GT3.
