Thanks to the generosity of another PHer already I have a CD with parts lists and service manuals and some wiring diagrams, but unfortunately these are mostly illegible due to the poor quality scan.

Does anyone have anything better available they're willing to share? Happy to pay costs, or copy and return if it's in hard copy. And if you're wondering why I'd need it.... I'm just hoping to identify some of this: :D

Cheers
Don

It was written off by an interior/engine fire - it was like this when I got it so don't know the details of what happened.

The wiring was mostly protected by the carpets and all of it rear of the transmission tunnel is fine but may need a new front loom section. No engine and gearbox so it will be receiving a small block chevy LSx of something between 400-500hp and a Tremec T56 or TKO 500/600, so no need for the engine ECU and wiring.

It's due to ship out to New Zealand with me in around 6 weeks time. I've got pretty much all the parts to rebuild it and as we all know a lot of the assembly job involves applying glue and gobs of sikaflex, but I know I'm going to have headaches with the Cerb electrics in particular. I could substitute some systems but only as a last resort because there's quite a bit of specific logic in how some things work (eg windows dropping an inch when the door ir opened) and the more I move away from the 'factory standard' the more I'll be on my own to make it all work together.

This is a very ambitious project for me and I'm keen to do as much as I can myself, but whether it's me or someone more expert doing the work good information about how it's all supposed to work is going to be very useful. Hence this post....

Edited to add... and it's going to be fitted with a floor mounted pedal box out of (I think) a T350.

Wow. I wouldn't know where to start.

Will you be able to get it 'MOT'd (or their equivalent). There was an article in Sprint regarding problems associated with this, with someone who had problems getting their car road legal. I may be wrong, as it may have been in Australia. Cant remember.

Unless of course its for the track.

Glad you're blazing the 'Cerbera to NZ' trail Don! I think I'll be here for a few more years yet, but will follow your project with great interest!

Which part of NZ are you returning to?

Jools: well spotted - a lovely back garden it is too! All the prettier for having one less abused Cerb in it

Kojak: Yes you're right and I'm only too familiar with the nanny state issues around importing TVRs into NZ - I probably wouldn't be doing this otherwise. This will be presented to the authorities as a kit car - something like your 'Q' plate. And by the time it has been reassembled with the new engine and gearbox I don't think they can have much argument.

Simon: Hi there. Home to Wellington but haven't got any plans on what I'll be doing there yet so things could change. I imagine you'd find leaving your Cerb behind worse than a divorce after all these years and miles together - if I learn anything new about importing I'll let you know.

So..... no better wiring diagrams around then? (Jools?)

If you are taking the car out of the country and rebuilding it. Is it worth maybe approaching TVR or a friendly dealer and asking them for the information.
You've probably already tried that but I would be surprised if they blanked you. I mean it's not going to harm any future business and might even help them if you find you need any spare parts shipped out.

I only have the same info as you and any time I've needed to trace a wire I just follow the colours on the pin out descriptions.

I have tried one dealer on the wiring diagrams..... they don't have anything except the parts manuals and asked me for a copy of the ones on the CD! But now I think about it... I'm going to check again, its probably in the back of the workshop somewhere.

Ah, I should be popping back home at christmas to the windy city, keep it in mind if you need any small bits around that time

My brother and some friends are in the Wellington constructors car club, and they could be very helpful with your project with certification etc. (you probably already know this, but thought I'd mention it in case )

Cheers Simon, keep in touch & would be good to catch up at Xmas if you're out for a while. No I didn't know about the constructors club and an intro would be very much appreciated!
