Hi, what type of paint is it on a car where from certain angles it looks one colour and other angles it looks another? My car goes from a greyish blue to a greyish green.

Recently bought a 15 reg BMW with this type of paint, the bumper has been resprayed badly, it's just one colour in all light, I only noticed after having my car valeted and waxed this week.

Was wondering if it's even possible to get the bumper resprayed with this type of paint.

Will upload pictures shortly.

I've seen a MG-ZT resprayed with Monogram Chromactive I believe MG Rover called it which was purple/green/blue depending on the light.

It's probably going to cost a huge amount to get a whole car done at a bodyshop as it involves three or four colours and two different laquers and a number of metallic flakes.

You would never be able to make a convincing job with a few rattle cans.

Suspect its a pearl, dont think BMW ever did the flip paints, only TVR, Nissan and MG as far as I am aware ever offered them as a factory paint, unless the whole car has been repainted.

Yeah pearl is what I was thinking but iv only ever seen it in black paint before, wasn't sure since this one was blue.

No the cars not been fully resprayed, which is the problem because the bumper single colour stands out like a sore thumb to me now that I have spotted it.

Might take it direct to BMW see what they think. Surely I can get it done better than this.

Looks fine on the image personally most colours on plastic trim look different to the rest of the metal work.

It doesn't look to bad from the photos. Could it be that the bumper hasn't been polished and washed.

I replaced some panels with ones of the same paint code from another car and the colour looked off until I did give it all a good cut, polish and wax.
