I'm weighing up buying a Dainese Air Frame D1 jacket as summer is round the corner and I don't fancy another year sweating on my commute. I don't normally buy bike clothing online, preferring to try stuff on and buy locally, but unfortunately there's no stockists in the vicinity.

I currently wear a size 52 Rukka Matti, which is comfortable, with a bit of room when the thermal liner is out. I understand that for a mesh jacket I should really have something close-fitting, so I'm thinking of buying a size 50 Dainese. Can anyone tell me how Dainese sizing compares to other brands? I could of course send it back if it's too big or too small, but I'd like to get it right first time if I can.

Edit: I spelt Dainese wrong boxedin

Dainese stuff usually fits tall slim people well. The majority of people would say it’s small fitting. I wouldn’t go down a size, just stick to the 52.

Certainly leathers-wise they are snug - not sure if that transfers to textiles.

My 52 Alpinestars track leathers are more roomy than my 52 Dainese leathers which I use primarily on the road.

I've seen this said before but I'm far from either of those things (think barrel with short arms) and my Dainese mesh jacket is a great fit.

I'd echo the above.

I've got two Dainese leather jackets and one set of trous. They come up about 1/2 a size smaller than most other brands.

Lovely kit though.

I wear a 50 Dainese suit, but I couldn’t even begin to get into a 50 suit I found online at a good price.

In my experience Dainese sizing is accurate going by your chest measure on their chart
