Are Morocco getting ready to launch a bid for a GP? Their track is nearly ready - it's quite remote but with lots of runoff, and the layout looks familiar:

I was going to guess it was a Nike thing to prepare for the 2hr marathon a few years back, but I see the truth is far less interesting!

It’s an absolutely beautiful spot, popular destination for overlanders. It’d be a shame to build an F1 track there if that is what it is.

This thread is too meta for me. Which bit is a yoke, the race track visible on google maps? Is this a race track? If yes, what's the story?
