Mondeo Mk4 1.8 TDCI

The DMF finally gave up the other week so had a new DMF and Clutch fitted.

Havent driven the car too much till yesterday and noticed when driven fairly hard in first and second gear there is a "woosh" when changing gear.

At first I thought it was turbo related but it does not do it when the car is idle out of gear, only when driving.

Gear changes are perfect however and the clutch feels great.

Anyone any ideas?

I'm slowly coming to the end of my tether with the car, NOTHING ever goes right.

Obviously it wont do anything at idle when there is no load on the engine.

Sounds like a boost pipe hasnt been put back correctly or something...although you dont mention the car being underpowered or driving any different other than the noise.

but most likely to have been caused during the clutch change.

Sounds very much like a leak from one of the pipes to the recirculation valve. As it's only starting happening after the clutch change. I would hazard a guess one of the pipes has not been refitted properly. Either that or someone has fitted a blow off valve without you knowing.

It's also possible that the noise has always been there but you're noticing now because you're more focused on looking for something after the clutch change.

Put money on an intercooler pipe & probably starting to split rather than being loose.

Thanks for the input.

Will investigate further but nothing looks too obvious.

Car drives perfectly power wise.

My Mondeo (2.2 TDCI) had a split in one of the Turbo pipes. It took a bit of effort to find it, even with a smoke generator. So it may not be a great big split, it may be minute, in which case they take perseverance to find.
