Afternoon!
I’ve got an 08 320D Tourer.
Amber DPF warning light came on recently.
Yesterday the DPF light came on quickly followed by the amber engine management light, then a complete loss of power as it dropped into to limp mode.
When trying to start, the car turns over and the fuel pump is working.
Disconnected/reconnected battery which helped me start and get home. But cut out same again.
Luckily made it to a friend’s house and got recovery to pick me up.
BMWs initial advice was to do a DPF self-clean by hitting the motorway at +2000 revs for an hour and the car would do the rest. They now advise reading/clearing fault codes and trying to do the self clean... apparently it won’t happen automatically if there are stores fault codes(?) And get the car to do a DPF purge
Anyways, I don’t have the cable and software to go thru and clear them, but was wondering if there was anyone based around the Wigan area who could recommend a company who won’t charge me £100 just to take the keys from me!
Cheers,
Rob
