Interesting I’ve not seen anything locally here in France apart from one Department going back on the limit which they can do. That was seen as a first step.
The removal has always been an option but the trial is supposed to continue through 2020.
There are reports that it has also generated an additional 3.5 million Euro in fines.

according to Mr Tom Tom, it is not official yet. They will be updating their maps once they hear it is official.

^^ My one foray into writing for PH was on this very topic, even though it looked like some of my understanding of the distinction between a délit and an infraction transpired to be a bone of contention in the comments.

Edited for typo.

From a conversation elsewhere, although the intention is to reverse the reduced limit, it is unlikely to take effect until the back end of the year.

I’m in France now and have seen no evidence of it having reverted back to 90.

All that Macron has done is pass the buck onto the local Prectures.

If they believe that their roads are safe enough to allow limits to revert back to 90kph, then they can. Hence the report from Haut-Marne.

I think it is likely to become a Political football with just a few bolshy departments daring to make a change.

My own department (49) have not made a change and I don’t think that Sarthe (72) have either.

Whether it is 80, or 90kph, I suspect that there will still be an army of CRS on the lookout for anyone exceeding posted limits.

Our department, the Mayenne 53, is reverting back to 90 KPH, as are over 40 other departments, but, not immediately. There has to be some legislation passed first. I'm sure it will be a popular result though.
