Oil pressure switch

Could anyone tell me the function of this switch, does it just bring the dash light on or is it linked to the fuel pump circuit somehow.
Its the single wire one located above the oil filter on the housing.
Just planning my wiring out for a Megasquirt connversion.

Oil light switch is just that to turn the light on an off its not like some vehicles where its linked to the FPR Rover SD1 80's carb Honda'a etc etc
