Had a quick look at a Youtube video this morning talking about the new OS.
Looks like a major change from what we know and love.
Looking forward to having a play with the Beta when it's available, which I imagine will be this week sometime.

The beta is already out for developers but as an ipsw file I’m guessing to avoid people getting hold of a copy who aren’t registered. Public beta probably in a few weeks (last year it was 3 weeks).

I think for me the big thing is tvOS13 having support for PS4 and Xbox controllers. I have a steelseries nimbus but this may encourage some bigger developers to create appleTV games. (Although I bet Apple still insist on making games compatible with the remote).

iOS13 beta2 is available for OTA update. Search Dino Zambas on YouTube for the link and How-to.

Everything just feels that little bit more quick. Certainly faceid is so much quicker now when logging into the phone or banking apps.

A few bugs but that’s the whole point of the beta to identify them and so far only Ordnance Survey app for me isn’t loading properly but all other apps are fine.

Installed iPad OS 13 on my iPad Pro (now that Beta 2 is out). Liking it so far. Context menus are good (especially on a device that doesn’t support force-touch). Multi-window improvements are good. Some strange font issues in Blackberry Work. Can’t get 1Password in the Safari share sheet so it the password auto-fill doesn’t recognise it’s a password field it’s a pain.

Downloaded Catalina last night onto a spare ssd drive. Seemed good, Sidecar works but resolution looked pants on my ipad pro which I suspect is down to my 2014 imac running a second 28inch monitor as well.

Not quite ready for me to do the whole migration thing just yet though. I need more time to play with it first.

It's got some good features, like the dark mode etc.

It also has a few little quirks that need sorting out.

Ring Go, the parking app, won't allow me to log in.
Face recognition won't work with my barclays bank app.
Emails don't always show as being recieved and on occasion I can't see the ones I have received. Closing the app sorts it.
BBC iplayer radio app is a bit 'damaged', but does work.

Ipad os seems to be pretty sorted.

Thanks for the feedback on bugs.

Think I’ll leave it until we get a couple more betas issues and a few more things ironed out.

Here’s a list of apps that work / broken / partially work.

I contacted ordinance survey to mention there was an issue with their app and they took the time to reply but basically said they won’t edit there app until the final version is out. Whereas companies like first direct on previous betas have been happy to edit to make them work.

The Apple Pencil on the new os seems to work even better for sketching.

All downloaded to Mac and iPhone - just updating the iPad.

Desktop items disappeared for some bizarre reason. Available on Files app but not on the Mac - very strange and have submitted feedback.

A few issues here, applications crash and restart, with the exception of my Santander Banking app, which no longer works at all.
Will think twice about installing on my device again frown

I used to install and play with new iOS as I like to see what is coming. However, too much of my life now revolves around the phone (as in two factor authentication via apps mainly) that I can't risk it anymore unfortunately.
