hi,

been offered the chance of a 2014 Vanquish with a 1 year timeless warranty at a good price.........any advice/lookouts/pitfalls anyone can give would be great......would it be worth pushing for a second year warranty to be included as part of the deal.

are these cars serviced once a year..........costs?

Mechanically they're very robust, and the carbon body wont corrode. If it's in good health upon inspection, there's nothing to really be worried about. Servicing costs are on a fixed cost plan based on age / mileage, as per the equivalent Vantage V12. Depending on mileage, have the brake disc thickness checked just so you know where you're starting from - it's probably the single most expensive consumable when they eventually come up for replacement.

The weakest link in the chain tends to be the tracker on earlier cars, but that should get checked prior to sale to make sure it's active.

Go for it, they're fantastic thumbup

2014MY was the gearbox upgrade to the 8-speed ZF, I believe. Is it an 8-speed or 6-speed? By most accounts the 8-speed is the better car and will hold its value better, too.

As above, servicing costs now are on a fixed basis through the main dealers

Lots of things you could push for in lieu of a cash discount (which many dealers are loathe to give) - longer warranty would be one, next service free? Or the PDC driving day at Millbrook

So long as you're not tracking the car - the discs will last a LONG time so long as the pads are replaced at the correct intervals. I had the same fear when I bought my V12V - but I'm 6 years in and no problems at all.

I pushed for 2 years timeless warranty and 2 years servicing included. Oh, and the carbon pen set for my wife. Trump would have been proud of me

Think it was 15MY for the 8spd so from Sep 14.

OP, I had one, sold it, and bought another after a few months. Go for it.

I dropped my V12V off at AML last week and they had another white V12V in with the broken bolt flat heads and cracking on the disc to bell interface mount spigots. The owner is trying to get Aston to look into it
this quote is from another thread and i realise you shouldn't be purchasing such a car and not expect to incur running costs..... i am advised that the timeless warranty will cover most things except the brakes and at £9k just for front discs and pads its something i cant swallow however unlikely that scenario may surface.......which is a shame cry

i Think the brake issue is overstated. How many of us on here have cc brakes, and how many of us have had a problem. The way not to have concerns is buy a new car and then you lose more than the cost of brakes when you drive off the dealer forecourt.

Yes there is a risk, and it sucks if you are unlucky, but isn’t that the same with any second hand expensive car?

Great cars and great value in my opinion, go in with eyes open, but if you take the negative view you’d never buy anything.

The Timeless warranty will not cover brakes from a wear and tear point of view. Same as any other warranty on a consumable.

The example you have quoted is a failure and I would expect to be fully covered under warranty.

Thanks again.......of course i completely agree on wear and tear ....i would not expect that to be covered.......but are we confident that a weakness or manufacturing flaw would be addressed easily or would it take significant effort........im not au fait with astons procedures regarding possible warranty issues..........just let me know everyone if you think im being a pussy about eekthis....

You are indeed being a pussy.

I suspect if the guy with the broken bolts tweeted AP the matter would be sorted immediately under the warranty which again IMHO would definitely cover this particular situation.
