Anyone have info/experience on stands etc for circuit des ramparts this year please?. Is a stand essential etc.

Not essential, but a good idea.

It gives you access to the inside of the circuit, so as well as being in a stand you can stand on the inside of corners as the race comes by, there are places where you can stand and look down on the circuit to get a birds-eye view of the track, you can walk around what is the equivalent of the pit-lane garages.

There is also a cafe called Le Chat Noir (not in the circuit) which is a great place to go and watch all the classic cars driving around the town.

I went last year and loved the event but viewing not ideal without grandstand access (was sold out when I booked).

Will definitely go again, probably next year and would definitely book a grandstand (Fangio or Cathedral)

Went last year and it is a great laid back event. Super atmosphere in the town.
We got grandstand tickets in the Theatro stand which backs on to the pits and allows you to wander around the cars freely. Full sun though!

Grandstands are a BIG advantage. - We usually get the 'Cathedral' Grandstand.

If you are going to be there on the Friday night, come and see us in the Concours d'Elegance. - We'll be in the TR3a again.

It's worth the cost to get up close to the cars in the pits.

Not essential by any stretch, but given the relatively low price, I would, when I go again. Buying an entry ticket is essential though, as you not only get access to the pits, rather than peeking through the wire fences, you also get to roam around the inside of the circuit where there is viewing galore, of almost every corner of note.

So much more than just the racing though, and there are some great pre-events, such as the concours, and the rallies.

I took my Pantera out there, and followed the main rally. The crowds were most enthusiastic, and it was great to rest up in a quiet village en route with a coffee and watch the cars roaring past.

Friday and Saturday evening in town is also great for just soaking in the sights, and the fellow enthusiasts. Sit outside one of the bars on Rue du Chat, grab a beer and drink in the atmosphere. Then wander the backstreets and be astonished what you find parked out on the street, Bugatti, Bentley VDP, Porsche RSR, etc.

A glorious event. The right crowd, without the crowding!
