Have a look at the Can You Run It? website. Analyses your hardware and suggests minimum specs for games. Might give you some pointers.

Used AMD 570 providing you have the PSU to run it is the best bang for your buck.

Your onboard graphics performance is woeful https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Int... and any dedicated card of any description will be a significant improvement.

How much is 'loads'? Personally for my money a GTX1660 is in the price/performance sweetspot right now with some available at around £200, or if that's too much then perhaps a GTX1060 for £160 or so. Hell even a 1050 at £120 would beat the socks off what you have at the moment.

Ideally sub £50 tbf....I know its not huge, but Ive other bills to sort (new glasses - £635!) and wont be a hard core gamer if that makes sense.

In which case you're definitely looking at a second-hand card. Your built-in graphics are probably equal to about a £100 card so you'll need to spend more than that new to get something worthwhile. Even second hand though, you'll struggle to get anything at £50 that will make much of a difference I'm afraid.

This is a pretty decent list of more-or-less every graphics card available; yours is an Intel HD 630 (search for it!) so realistically you should be looking for one which has at least three times your score of 981 to see a decent improvement. Happy hunting!

as above any of the £50 cards won't make much difference.

Buying a new card I'd say your starting point would be the 2Gb versions of a GTX1050 or an RX560. You need to double your budget.

The cheapest GTX1050 on Ebuyer is here

280 x 3gb will run all modern games at at least 40fps 55 quid with 2 year warranty some of the comments here are ridiculous. hd630 equivalent to a 100 pound card lol

guaranteed to be a scam

no mention of what vendor its from, msi, asus, evga, etc
its got a vga connector
it quotes 750Mhz clock speed, 1050ti should be 1300+

it'll be a gtx650 or similar with the firmware hacked.

The 280X (as per CeX link) is barely less power-hungry than the 780ti tbh. Talking 208W in-game to 222W. If the 780ti needs a new power supply, the 280X probably also needs one (unless it's an awkward-as-hell borderline case!). Source)

On the other hand, if the 280X and 780ti are both able to be powered by OP's system, then the only answer (at the same price) is the 780ti.

I agree about the 780 ti , I was referring to his comments about the nonsense :-)

A more powerful PSU can be had for small money .

Roam eBay and Facebook.. I picked one up for like £10! But then had to spend a few quid getting a really dodgy double 4 pin to gfx card cable. biggrin
