Arriving on Thursday afternoon and we usually come in via Tertre Rouge and the football stadium. Last couple of years this has been a nightmare because of the queues to get in to Houx. Anyone got a better suggestion? Via Arnage maybe?

I have come in from west side of Le Mans 3 or 4 times (as have stayed/staying Bleu Nord or Porsche curves) on ring road D338 and then turned right (south) down Avenue Felix Geneslay signed for Le Mans Rouge and Bleu areas (be careful not to turn in business park just before turning) and then when come to large roundabout done a short hop (300m left/east) on the dual carriageway (D323 towards Mway for Tours, Chartres and Orleans (its the left fork as leave roundabout - 3rd exit)) to come off right (south) by main entrance. Turn right and go down side of Le Mans stands and big wheel past Bleu parking camping (a few delays as cars turn in there to ask for directions as they are usually in completely wrong place) and you then come to the roundabout for the underpass at Porsche Curves and turn left to go inside circuit.

I normally set sat nav/Waze for Boulevard des Italiens (road past main gate down to Porsche Curves roundabout)

Arnage can be pretty busy/jammed on Thursday and did try that way once but got lost.

We're on Houx as well and arriving Thursday lunchtime. Last year we were still able to go up the Mulsanne to KFC and then turned right there which got us to the tram station and avoided all the chaos around the football stadium. Might be an issue if you get there later though. You can come in from the bridge by Porsche curves but that little road was just as bad when we tried it a few years ago.
