Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Excite 2011 Automatic

Hello everyone

I am looking to buy my first automatic car, to be honest what worries me is the MPG (currently drive a yaris 1.0 2004) and the transmission fault issues (don't know what to really look for)

So I have test driven 2 and both appear to be as normal one would expect, I hope you guys can help with this one, I want to buy a corsa 1.2 auto 2011, it's done 54k mileage and condition is good. Does anyone have any experience with this type of car? mpg on the ad had this down as 43.6mpg is that realistic?

Also one thing the car when turned on cold start it was making a noise didn't sound normal to me but the car itself drove smoothly.. This noise kind of like a whining but last several seconds..


Any ideas?

Stick with the Yaris.

If it's the proper torque converter automatic they are fine if not particularly economical, however it it's a Easytronic which is an automated manual then run away from it as fast as you can !

My aunt has an 09 1.4 (auto) it is hateful to drive. Truly hateful

If it's definitely a 1.2 then it will be an Easytronic with a joystick style gearlever - honestly run for the hills it is horrific in every measure. The 1.4 is the torque converter and isn't much better.

Go for a Suzuki Swift 1.2 auto or a Nissan Micra for the same sort of age/money.

Before messaging the seller if he still has this for sale, I thought I would check if this has had any replies and i'm glad I checked, so it seems as though I need to stay clear of this car,

I do want to stick with the Yaris but may look for this in an automatic and have a look into the Swift and Nissan you mentioned earlier,

Thats the car above, to be honest I think to myself just leave the car but after viewing it twice I don't know whether to just take a chance on it... is the above definitely one to avoid then..?

That's definitely an Easytronic - I don't know if you've driven it or not but the gearbox is truly woeful compared to a standard auto. Its basically a manual gearbox with an automatic clutch so the changes are very jerky and sluggish.
