Just a note to say that speeding offences by UK registered cars recorded on camera in France are now being pursued in the UK by the French authorities.
I know - it happened to me.

But it's rumoured Les Gilets Jaunes have destroyed 65% of all the speed cameras!!

We should be supporting them!!!

Its as always the Gendarmerie and their radar guns that are the real threat.

In france they signpost the cameras for you - take notice of those signs and fixed cameras should not be a problem.

They also have these big round signs with numbers in them and a red border. Take notice of those signs and the mobile cameras aren't a problem either.

I got a couple come through the post a few weeks ago from my own UK registered car so they definitely are sharing details now. One of them was from a fixed camera and one from Les Flics hiding in a gateway. Both times were only 3 or 4kmh over the limit so tolerances are fairly low. The fines were €43 each and you pay them through an app.

My mate has just come back from a couple of weeks in France and has so far amassed 4 fines totalling €225. He got his latest today.

He was mostly off the motorways but says he only noticed 1 flash of a camera. The amazing thing is he drives very sensibly in a Discovery and each time was only just over the limit.

Looks like they are keen to make money so watch out!

Yes, you do now, there's a few threads on here about it and other motoring sites.
