Millennium dome to re-open as concert venue......

The Millennium Dome hopes to be a stage for musicians such as U2 and Sir Paul McCartney when it reopens as an entertainment arena in April 2007. Who gives a toss. Yet another hairbrained idea that will flop within 2 years. Pull the crap down and give us all a refund (£100 each for every man woman and child in the UK from what I read somewhere) and use the money to build something we ALL want.
BTW: Read the BBC's site and notice the lefty message about "started by tories" fecking hell that was 5 NOTE five YEARS ago, give the blame the last party a break. anyone with 1 brain cell would have killed it after 2 or 3 or 4 years. Nope blame Mandleson, remember him? oh you know Blairs matey given the cushy EU job of sailing us down the river.

Agree completely, if it was up to me, those who were 'planning' WembleyII and the MD should be in prison for gross missuse of public monies, and anything else we could pin on them.
I don't think it would go down well for the new stadium in London to be smaller than the Millenium Stadium...
IIRC the Tories were talking about a project like this prior to being kicked out and it was Labour who took the idea and selected the site, nature of the facility, etc.
What got me was that something like this should have been sited in or near Birmingham, not bloody London. For me that was one of the biggest mistakes of the whole project.
Also did you know that one of the major problems with the Dome is the land it is built upon is some of the most contaminated in the entire country? They had to put massive piles and 'dams' along the river front to try to limit the amount of pollution which seeps into the river.
