You know that “mental”, especially mood swings, you have been subject to up to now?
Wait a few months, then double it….
Last year's ex (medical person) informed me that there are 2 HRT treatments, one is cheap and quells libido, and one isn’t cheap and doesn’t quell libido. She was on the 2nd, and didn’t I know it…
I have no idea if this is true or not – she wasn’t the sanest of people.

Don't tell me that cry Luckily my missus is a few years off yet but I'd miscalculated this month, she was being such a bh I felt borderline suicidal (yes really!) but I hadn't made the connection as it seemed too soon. If I do know it's that time then I know to ignore her if she's on one mad

It's turning out to be very tough on MrsC (and by association on me). Not an easy time at all. She reacted badly to the first HRT they gave her, has just started something else but that's not showing signs of being very effective yet (2 weeks in). Buckle up!

This information is from the less-than-sane ex
There is a way of asking for it, which I think your partner would have to say that “Method 1 (the usual) causes me problems, is there anything else you can do?” You can’t ask for method 2 from the kick off - Method 1 has to run for some time…

I think method 2 is 3-4x more expensive, hence considerable questioning from the GP to make sure it is actually Method 1 that is causing concerns, and the reluctance on behalf of many GPs to tell people about the alternatives – her words – not mine.

She had advised her friend how to get prescribed onto Method 2 as well, and it had made her Insatiable. Which isn’t what you want – trust me… Apparently her friend had already considered cheating on her husband as he couldn’t keep up. Said friend only lives 2 roads away from me, so I'm still waiting for the gossip to start...

Usual caveat, it may have just been a great cover story to explain the ex’s continual “desires”. As said the ex worked in the NHS, as a GP practice manager for some years, so she knew how the system worked.

There’s not much on the NHS web site
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hormone-replacement-...

Hopefully someone medical will be along in a moment to confirm/deny the above.

Depends how fast you want to get from London to Birmingham. Massively over budget already. I say no

Yes you do need HRT!!!!

Whack the patch on YOUR OWN arse so when the misses won't let you tune into Radio Tokyo, you can tune in your own!!

Added benefit is that you'll be chilled out and calm whilst she's going mental!

Mrs QD is going through it.

For a few months I've been working 120 miles from home.

These facts are not entirely unrelated.

Mrs C70GT has gone through it and come out the other side. No mood swings or anything out of the ordinary. She had obviously been lucky as we have both come through unscathed - no medical intervention either.

Roughly about four to five years. Mrs is very placid and stable, mood wise, so no severe mood swings. Only symptoms appeared to be hot flushes that were frequent and very noticeable, particularly at night, and dryness. Knew when the end was here, when she announced the symptoms were gone and she thought she was out the other side.
