In May 1981 a 2.0GL was £5594. Including seat belts. PAS extra. Automatic was £20 more.

It probably should be in a museum. Although anything but a classic, it's rare to find such a mainstay vehicle in pristine condition.

I thought that as this car is unregistered, it stands no chance of ever being able to be road legal now. My thinking was that any unregistered cars wishing to be made road legal had to meet current safety and emission standards as it would be in effect a ' new ' car.

It's clearly a collectors item - a Mk 6 Cortina.

I had a cardinal red 2.0 GLS Mk 5 on a 1982 Y plate.

Recaros were fantastic - it was like an RS2000 inside!

Thinking the same thing, massive respect to the dealership for putting in alongside the newer models, I'm surprised it hasn't shifted on its own like that.
