I know it's a bit uncouth, but the mulsanne was basically empty, bleu sud no crowds, even outside beausejour there's nobody by the roadside?

Friend is here for his first le mans and there's a distinct lack of atmosphere

I must admit it is quiet, bsj did fill up by Saturday morning but loads of room.
More people than normal staying later in to Sunday though.

Was Friday any good in the end? We were last there year before last. Finally on the Friday a small good natured group started to form at Bleu Sud in the evening .. very shortly followed by the riot van rocking up with the CS gas already drawn - really unpleasant. frown One of the things that put me off going back for a while and hence we went to Spa instead last year.

I hate to mention it but some have been wary of Brexit, even though nothing has happened yet and may have declined travelling ,and also the yellow vest stuff.

Although it didn't stop me from spending 44 days in Italy.

The circuit was busier at midnight during the race than I've seen it over the last 2 years.

Less Brits, more Europeans

Glad there isn't any tttery on Fridays now. Definitely less Brits and empty plots in Houx. Which is usually rammed.

More people stayed until this morning, which might be because they're not running for a ferry.

Well Tertre Rouge was if anything busier than usual but quieter, yes all the same people each year so we are all getting older

Are you implying you’d fall asleep after a few beers, old timer?

I’m only pulling your leg, chap.

Well had a few beers but try to stick to red wine these days, in TR the friday night was a little more noisy with people still going until 3 am but other nights by 1 am mostly quiet with a few groups still sitting in gazebo's talking but most people had turned in for the night.

I wouldn’t call the circuit quiet, but there just seemed to be less people which stopped it feeling absolutely packed and fairly easy to get around.

Lots of empty grandstand seats throughout where I was and noticed they emptied pretty quick after the start. The stands above the pits was noticeably quiet even at the start and finish.

Driving around seemed easy without big queues, though expo car park was pretty full most race.

Blu Sud was quiet all weekend. At the circuit It felt like a bigger crowd but less brits this year. Probably just my perception. Arnage and Indianapolis felt a lot busier on Saturday night than last year but got there later so that might have been it

Possibly the guy I saw at 5:15am at the entrance to the circuit who decided to set off a flare. The guards came out and took it off him but then they didn’t really know what to do with it either laugh

We thought Houx wasn't quite as busy as usual, although, as above, we noticed a lot more French than usual. The Ford Chicane grandstand we were in had a few empty seats, but no more than other years. The big difference was leaving. We left just after the finish and there was no queue out of Houx, no diversions or security directing traffic and we got up by the arena before we hit a small queue.

The yobs that were present en masse on my first trip in 2008 seem to have long since departed

I watched most of the race on Eurosport. From the aerial shots of the circuit it did look down on numbers.

The three noticeable things this year for me
1 bsj quieter
2 toilets and showers were much better
3 loads more people stayed Sunday night.
