I agreed to buy a white 2010 997.2 Carrera S remotely from a very nice specialist Heritage Dealer in Edinburgh.. I had to wait a couple of weeks to get the time to fly up..(from Buckinghamshire).. To say I was excited last night is an understatement.. To say that I had a bit of wee come out with the twist of the key for the first time.. yep..

This is actually the first 997 I have driven.. It is taught, analogue (low servo on the brakes I noted), makes lots of nice noises (PSE).. The PDK box is pretty good.. little jolts when engaging from Neutral..

The dealer has been superb.. Collected me from Edinburgh airport in a 997.1 Turbo with 5k miles on!

The other chap in the dealership deciding on the purchase of the classic Aston up for 230k put my purchase into perspective!..

The journey home begins tomorrow after a look around Edinburgh..

I have done it.. After forever looking and dreaming about them.. Looking at the yellow model 911 on my office desk for years..

I have a 911.. expect some questions to start.. One minor thing to sort (especially on a white car) is the slight paint erosion from the edge of the wheel arches based on stones I assume.. Little touch-up needed..

Seems unreal..

Off for a lie down..

:-)

Hi, nice car, congrats

Can you pm me the original ref of the car, I think it may be my old car!

If so I have lots of history that you might be interested in.

Congrats OP. Think you may have perhaps bought Porsche best 911 from its back catalogue. Well done. You'll know you've got the bug when you pop out for very early morning drives on your own wink

I’ll be honest I don’t like white 911’s but that’s bloody lovely....looks a great car. What spec is it ?

Thank you Cheib! I wasn’t a fan either of white. I wanted the right amount of black contrast and still fancy a duck tail and some subtle grey stripes.. had to have black wheels. I went white in the end as didn’t want black and thought white might be less shouty for my first Porsche and a parked on the drive car

Spec is:

997.2 Carrera S
PSE
Sports seats
Sport Chrono Plus
Porsche specific options from new (graphics, red seatbelts etc)
Decent paddle steering wheel

All the things I wanted
