Stupid swapping newer ds3 turbo for older type r?

I have a 14 plate ds3 thp with about 45k miles. I'll be doing about 800miles (150 a day) a week (motorway miles) for the next 12 months and I'm feeling as though something expensive will go wrong with it within that time frame. It's also slow... Im wanting to get a remap but thatll be another thing to be wary of with the amount of daily mileage I'm doing.

I could probably swap it out for a type r with around 85k on it. Type r should be reliable by default and being naturally aspirated should hopefully help reliability?

Just after thoughts on whether this would be silly? Could I get a remap and it still be odds on fine for up to say 90k miles? Probably a stupid question but meh.

If the remap is done by a reputable company then I don't see why you'd be having any extra issues.

Type R parts aren't cheap FYI. 500 quid for an exhaust! I had a lot of problems with mine.

Surely you'd be better off with a decent MK4 Mondeo and using the savings (running costs) to buy a cheap fun car?

Don't think I'd want to do 800 miles a week in either of the cars mentioned. B road blasts maybe.

I can't see why a remap on your current car will suddenly make it self-destruct.

I'd much rather do that motorway mileage in a DS3 than a Type-R.

Type R is a stupid idea per other comments.

Your current car will do it fine. If you must change, a decent economical, dull, cruiser, diesel auto, barge would be the way to go for your needs. But I don’t think you need to.

Get a remap if you want it, but equally for the miles you are doing, will it really matter? Just relax and go with the commute...
