Simple question reall gents.

I was bought a heritage black bay for my 40th

I don't wear it a huge amount (about 1 day a fornight), and occasionally for an evening out.

However I have noticed recently that when I put it on it doesn't start ticking very quickly, it can take upwards of 10 or 15 minutes to start ticking, and sometimes will only do so after I have set the time correctly.

The other problem is when I take it off, it doesn't stay ticking for very long. For a watch with a 70 hour power reserve it often seems to have stopped ticking within 12 hours of taking it off despite me wearing it for 12 hours plus.

Maybe this is how there supposed to be, but I thought I would ask the ph hive mind before going back to my dealer.

Thanks

If it’s anything like a Rolex then you first need to wind the watch manually if it’s been left to completely unwind. The auto winding function will keep a wound watch spring “topped up” but it won’t wind it meaningfully from completely dead.

40 complete turns to get it up to full power, often take a dozen to just get it started if it has stopped.

Anyway, the comments already posted are the correct answers to your question.

yes

Other than the missing one of, buy a watch winder to keep it on, if winding it manually is such a chore, given the few times its worn.
