Hi - my new to me 997.2 has visible impact wear on front and rear arch edges (front worse as the base of the wings). Anyone else have issues with paint damage and repair and then paint protection?

I've had exactly the same on my white 997.2.
My go to painter (in Bradford) advises that it is normal wear and tear on a 911. He has fixed it perfectly even reinstating the textured protective finish. In time it will happen again!
Not sure PPF would successfully cover the textured finish.

Thank you for the reply! Good to hear that it’s a relatively simple fix. Agree the textured paint finish could be tricky. I’ll be looking for someone that can address this locally (bucks)

I have the same problem. I just regularly touch it up with paint stick ...

It’s common on 987 & 997. As my car is Atlas Grey, I’ve gone a bit further, and painted the entire area with an impact resistant ‘stone chip’ paint, then Atlas Grey over that. It’s holding up well so far.

Thanks
Magnum 475 - was the stone chip paint also grey?

I bought POR15 kit which goes onto rust and apparently stops any corrosion, it dries rock hard. Did exactly the same thing on my 987S. Wouldn't bother having it done professionally it will just happen again in no time the area is extremely vulnerable to chipping as there is quite a gap for stones to flick into

Just used Hammerite's 'Stone Chip Paint'. The colour match is so good I almost didn't bother with Atlas Grey over the top smile
