Any opinions on the google home max.

I 'm not a Hi-Fi enthusiast but like a good sound. I'm after a streaming system for the kitchen (approx 8m x 5m) that's easy to use but with good sound.

If not the Google home max then what?

I have three and am very pleased with them; the sound is excellent - my only criticism is that they're quite large. If you can accommodate that then I would definitely recommend. I often sync all three for music. You can also stereo pair two which could be useful?

I'd hold fire on buying if you can though - Amazon Prime day is coming up in a few weeks' time and whilst you can't buy Google kit on Amazon I have no doubt there will be some deals flying around from various retailers or the Google shop itself.

I managed to get mine half price at £200/ea last time they went on offer (they were £399, they're currently down to £299) - I already had a Home and a couple of Minis and the price-drop meant man-maths worked and I replaced them all (I gave the Home and Minis to my brother).

The Nest Hub Max is due imminently and might also be worth a look for somewhere like the kitchen. It will do video calling, YouTube etc and will integrate with the Nest Cam and Doorbell for example: https://store.google.com/product/google_nest_hub_m...

These have now dropped to £199 pretty much everywhere now so it's probably a good time to pick one (or two) up!

Google Home Hub and Chromecast for £79: https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/free-chromecas...

The Hub is usually £120 on its own so that's a pretty decent deal.

Does anybody know if the Nest Hub Max will have a tiltable screen? All of the promo shots show it sat on a counter/table at waist height so the screen is angled up a bit. I'd like to put it at head height on a floating shelf in the kitchen, but if the screen can't angle downwards I think I'll need to reconsider...

Looks like the screen is fixed-angle from the tech specs..?
