So its sunday and i,m bored so looking at the Astons. I see that the prices between these two are closing fast so which would be the better buy in your opinion?

Oh No! Not another "Which will make me the most money / lose me the least money" thread. Do we have to do this every week?

In what sense? Looks wise, both stunning. Driving wise, both amazing but the DBS being the newer, more powerful car has the advantage. Sound wise, the Vanquish wins but the the DBS does sound great. Reputation, I think the DBS has a lot of admirers that don't usually look past Ferrari and Lamborghini, it's been something of a breakout car for Aston, being talked of as a legit competitor to the 812.

If you're concerned about depreciation you have to look at the Vanquish's low's, because the Ultimate is not a Zagato and won't hold a premium, unless more buyers come into the market your Ultimate will go under £100k eventually. Will the DBS do the same? I think there's potential for the DBS to find a higher low, it'll likely come down to UK production numbers, but you park it beside an F12 or an 812 can it really be worth 50% less?

I find it hard to fathom why my car is worth around £85k when I look at F12 and Aventador prices, but the market is what it is and you can't argue with it. In the end your best bet is to drive them both and pick the one that gives you the bigger grin.

I would say DBSS. Looks more of a modern interpretation of the aston design compared to the other new cars, very powerful, plenty of tech. The vanquish ultimate - cant see what makes it special other than some q finishes?

Being the last N/A flagship "might" help Vanquish but I doubt the future generations will give a st.

Agree with Nick, give it 5 years and people will be talking about the "last none EV Astons"
Try them both, see which makes you smile the most and enjoy the hell out of it. (and post pics too)

I go back and forth on this one a lot.

I think the Vanquish is better looking, nicer cabin and edges it in sound.

DBS is meaner looking, and hilarious when you get to floor it, but possibly a bit too DB11 for my taste when not on it.

I think a special edition Vanquish is a better proposition than a first version DBS, though I'm very much in the camp of enjoy them while you can and both might be worthless in the future! (hopefully wrong, but acting as if that is the case.)

I think unfortunately you may find you get bid a large chunk lower then if you wanted to sell to an AM dealer.
