Took my first step to owning a lotus ( for the second time ) today .Visited Williams Automobiles and test drove the Exige.
Absolutely astonishing grip - phenomenal!
I am counting down the days until my company car can be changed for an Exige.
You guys who drive these things are very lucky.
I will definately have one of these within a year.
PS stage 1 exhaust sounded about right for everyday use.

Ditch the Audi ASAP - I cannot believe how all other cars now appear to have massive yacht like steering wheels and kind of feel like they're riding on a sponge rather than tarmac... I've only had the Elise for a week!

only bought the audi as my mrs wanted a bigger car as I have 3 kids but she now has an MPV so I am free!
I did have a S1 Elise in 98 drove it every day for 2 years so I know what I'm missing. My only reservation is that it will used every day and my old Elise was terrible in the snow - based in Welsh valleys so when winter comes we seem to bear the brunt of any snow!
Any comments on best colour to have - I fancy Ardent Red or maybe Silver. The one I drove yesterday was Silver - looked good.My only reservation is that my old Elise was Silver / Red leather so not much of a change.Any way I know its very exciting for you guys who already have one but I was very impressed.

Can't you get a Winter tyre package for the Exige and Elise. It's legal requirement in Germany I believe?

I agree!

Just pulled up from work, got out, and the kid across the road was saying to his mates, "That's that mad car I've been telling you about, look!

Your not kidding mate. It felt like it should have been Saturday about 4 days ago.

Never mind it will soon be here and I suppose the anticipation is all part of the fun.

Good result on my insurance as well. Still with Esteem, unlimited mileage, car no longer garaged, ITG and Sports Exhaust noted on policy and trackday cover all for £65 more than my old lightly modded S1 cost.
